Arranging Accessories
One thing we can all do to personalize our home down to the last detail is add accessories to the display sections of the home! This is where you can get quite creative. However, even creativity comes with a certain set of smart guidelines to make it as aesthetically pleasing to your guests, and more importantly, to yourself as the homeowner! A huge essential to keep in mind, is scaling by using odd numbers. When you group things in odd numbers, it allows you for the contracts of multiple items to be less abrasive and much more peaceful. This works best if you follow a system that consists of; 2 similar objects, and 1 outlier. For instance, 2 compact round shapes, and a longer skinny one. Like 1 apple, 1 orange and 1 banana. This sticks to one theme while allowing some tasteful contrast.
Something else I'd like to introduce, is a neat trick for adding more presence to a display. Which can be hugely beneficial to smaller objects. This technique is to stack small trinkets on top of something larger, like a few books, acrylic blocks, or 4x4 cubes. Give them a boost to stand out!
For finer objects, or beautiful decorative works, there are other objects you can use to prop them up, like plate stands. These are perfect for not only nice plates and platters, but also pictures as well! It's really about creative with some of the basic rules that can help your place stand out as your own while having some structure and thought put into it!
